Feb. 5th - Power and Corruption
This week’s lesson mention’s the movie Wall Street. I haven’t seen that movie for a while. It’s a great movie about how greed can drive a person’s actions. I’ve known some people like that. They’re people whose main focus in life is on money. They’re not some of my favorite people. (That reminds me…I haven’t checked my powerball number yet tonight). That reminds me of another book I’ve never written “Would God Help Me Win the Powerball?” I think it’s a good question. I’m sure there were a lot of prayers to God tonight for help in winning the $156 million. Another question would be would the church accept a million dollar donation from the winnings? Maybe yes…maybe no. Anyway I’m getting further and further away from the lesson. Doesn’t it surprise you to hear that someone like a congressman, someone in such a trusted position, could be tempted by a bribe? What have they got to be thinking? It’s all right because everyone’s doing it…come on now.
