Being Together

What could be easier? We get to talk about our families. I remember when I was a kid, my father got very upset if supper wasn’t on the table at exactly 5:00pm. He thought something was wrong if it wasn’t. My mom was a stay-at-home mom. Of course I had two brothers and sisters and we were all only about a year apart in ages. What a mad house! He also demanded we were all in bed by 8:00pm. No begging for one more glass of water. As hard as I thought my dad was on all of us, I’ve always heard his dad was much harder on him. His dad came over from Sweden. He worked in a concrete factory. My dad drove a bus in downtown KC for over 40 years. Anyway my strongest memories were of Sunday noon meals. Many times we would have visitors and dad would always tell stories or end up in an argument about religion with them. What are some of your family memories?
